For most of my post graduate career, I've been scared and manipulated by previous supervisors and agencies into thinking that private practice would be too much work, exacerbate already-existing feelings of burnout, not feasible, too expensive to start, etc. I almost felt selfish for wanting to make more money and would settle for jobs that would barely allow me to make ends meet which would cause my own mental health to decline.
